I. ADIS16505 Product Overview

The ADIS16505 is a precision micro-MEMS Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) launched by ADI, integrating a three-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer to provide six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) inertial sensing. In unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications, the ADIS16505 can serve as the primary IMU for the flight controller or as a high-precision auxiliary IMU. When used in conjunction with GNSS, magnetometers, barometers, and vision/optical flow systems for sensor fusion, it reduces attitude drift during prolonged flights and enhances stability during hovering, waypoint navigation, mapping, and return-to-home operations with weak signals.
